Metallica Tickets: Catch Sphere and 2027 Tour Returns

Metallica have two runs to chase right now. The Life Burns Faster residency at Sphere in Las Vegas sold out almost as soon as it went on sale in March. The 2027 M72 stadium tour went on general sale on September 25 after a week of presales.

Whichever one you’re after, the official ticket page keeps moving after the on-sale. Here’s how tickets come back, and how to be first when they do.

The short version:

  • Sphere is sold out. 24 nights, October 2026 to March 2027. Returns still land on the official page, right up to the night.
  • The stadium tour is on general sale. 12 dates, May to June 2027, with months of ticket movement ahead.
  • Track the exact night you want. Every date is its own event, and every Sphere night has its own setlist.
  • Skip stranger-to-stranger resale. Official pages and official fan resale are the safe way in.

Metallica at Sphere: sold out, but not finished

Life Burns Faster is 24 nights at Sphere in Las Vegas, from October 1, 2026 to March 13, 2027. It sold out right after the March 6 general sale. The band later said they have no plans to add dates for now, though they haven’t ruled it out.

The shows run in Thursday and Saturday pairs under Metallica’s “No Repeat Weekend” format. The two nights of a weekend have completely different setlists, so plenty of fans want one particular night. That’s the night worth watching.

MonthSphere nights
October 20261, 3, 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, 31
November 20265, 7
January 202728, 30
February 20274, 6, 18, 20, 25, 27
March 20274, 6, 11, 13

Ticketmaster also sells 2-day tickets for some weekend pairs as their own listings. Our Sphere alert page covers the single nights, so if you want both nights on one ticket, keep an eye on that listing yourself.

The 2027 stadium tour: on general sale now

The M72 World Tour’s 2027 North American run is 12 stadium shows, with Limp Bizkit and Avatar supporting on the US dates. Presales started on September 21, and the general sale opened on Friday, September 25 at 10am local venue time, with a limit of six tickets per person.

If your date went before you got through, you have time on your side. There are months between now and the first show, and tickets move the whole way through.

When do Metallica tickets come back?

Any time up to the show, and usually in small batches. An official ticket page shows what’s on sale at that moment, and for shows this big it keeps changing:

  • Orders fall through. Payments that fail, or orders cancelled for breaking the ticket limit, go back on sale.
  • Production seats open up. Seats held while the stage and sightlines are finalized often get released.
  • Allocations get released. Tickets set aside for the band, the promoter or the venue can be let go closer to the date.
  • Fans resell officially. People who can’t make it relist through Ticketmaster’s fan resale, where it’s switched on for the event.

What comes back is usually a single seat or a pair. Everyone who’s refreshing sees it at the same moment, so it rarely lasts long.

Set up Metallica alerts with TicketRobin

TicketRobin watches the official ticket page for the Metallica night you pick, and alerts you the moment matching tickets show up. Here’s how to set it up so you’re ready when that happens:

  1. Start from the night, not the tour. Every Sphere night and every stadium date is its own event, and an alert for one won’t cover another.
  2. Cover both nights of a Sphere weekend if you’d take either. They’re different shows with different setlists, so they’re different trackers too.
  3. Add the stadium dates you could actually travel to. Kansas City and Fayetteville are three days apart. If either works, track both.
  4. Choose Fast or Instant checks. On a sold-out Metallica night, a return can be gone in minutes.
  5. Know your price before the alert does. Pick the most you’ll pay with fees, and set it as your limit.
  6. Pick an alert you can’t sleep through. WhatsApp is the hardest to miss.

Before any of that pays off, log in to Ticketmaster and save your card, so a checkout takes seconds. TicketRobin can’t hold tickets or get you past Ticketmaster’s checkout. It tells you the moment the page changes, and the rest is up to you. For the full walkthrough, see how Ticketmaster drop alerts work.

Be careful with resale

Shows this big bring out the scammers. If someone wants paying by bank transfer or friends-and-family payments, walk away, however good the price looks.

Use the official page and Ticketmaster’s fan resale where it’s available. Compare the total at checkout with fees included, because headline prices hide a lot. If you do buy somewhere else, check the event’s transfer rules first: some tickets can’t be moved to a new name.

At Sphere, check the date twice before you pay. With a different setlist every night, it’s easy to end up with the wrong half of a weekend.

Start tracking Metallica drops

Missing the first sale is not the end of it. Tickets come back in small bursts, and a bit of watching goes a long way. We’ve covered the same pattern for Olivia Rodrigo’s sold-out dates.
